New Yorkers like a winner, and over 43,000 fans got what they came for in NYCFC's home opener against the New England Revolution last Sunday at Yankee Stadium. David Villa chalked up the first goal in the first half, and with some fancy footwork set up Patrick Mullins (first shot above) steps in front of the goal to seal the deal. Josh Saunders made a couple of key blocks, and though Juan Agudelo's near misses helped, Saunders picked up the clean sheet. While Yankee Stadium doesn't allow smoke bombs or a lot of the noise-makers that make for a proper soccer environment, fans kept the energy alive on what was otherwise a pretty cold day. NYCFC is away this weekend at Colorado for a duel with the Rapids and through two games remains undefeated.
